Something ultra classy about tandem separate convertible tops, absolutely. To exist, they kind of require a body that works with a phaeton top in the first place, though, and a split passenger compartment so that Jeeves has his own roof. Considering that the last car to even have a real phaeton top was the Jeepster, I can’t imagine the wealthy were clamoring for one after the 40s... If they were, it would have been news to Rolls, makers of the Corniche and nothing more involved in a convertible vein.

I suppose you are correct. At the very least they could bring back four door convertibles then.

I think the mistake might be to assume that a dual-cowl only works for a luxury car. Put a feature like that on the right kind of retro gimmick car, and it might actually sell. It actually would make the structural engineering of a four-door convertible to modern standards much easier.
