But rally cars are better. They drifted before drifting was cool. I have evidence to prove it.
They don’t need much power, and they can do it on any season, on any surface. Heck, they even drift in the air.

These old trailer park terrors get the jurb done for the low low.
Apparently the old Thunderbirds and Cougars have a steering angle about as good as a 240. Find a 5spd Supercoupe and you’ve got a damn good platform for hoonage.

Part of me really wants a drift missile, although a larger part of me wants a real race car. But they are very cool. As you said in your recent article,
Drifters are the New Hot Rodders
. It’s garage hack/ghetto fixes with an attitude that make the cars look good even when they look “bad.” It’s like a cleaner and more modern version of rat rods.
I’m definitely more interested in traditional motorsports/racing now, but hopefully I’ll be able to give drifting a try in some beater before too long. Likely won’t be a 240SX by then though, since the drift tax will probably put them somewhere in the $20k range in the next 3 years. :P I’m tempted to try a drift day in my FR-S next year, but I also don’t really want to risk the possibility of damaging the car. Plus, that money would cover another track day....
