For fun, and also in the spirit of thinking about all those hard working delivery drivers this holiday season, I thought we could play a little game I call P[l]ayload where I list 5 cars and you put their ability to carry stuff (cement, snorkels, bipeds, whatever) in terms of lbs from greatest payload to least.

No. I was looking at them when my wife’s lease was up. I wanted something to tow a small trailer and I remember the Wrangler’s towing capacity being laughably low for something so butch.

That’s not terrible. I thought it was 2000 lbs or less. Maybe something changed recently? We were looking at 2014 models.

The Pilot is the only one that seats 8, so that has to count for something.

The Subie and the Wrangler are a crapshoot, TBH. I flipped a coin for those two. It wouldn’t surprise me that the Wrangler is dead last after adding the hardtop.

I’m going with

Pilot (because 8-pax minivan)

Ram (because truck, Murica)

X5 (middle of the pack)

Forester (same reason as X5, but smaller)

Wrangler (small, 4 seats, why would it need payload?)

I did a coin toss on the Subie and the Wrangler. This was the grouping I didn’t pick.

But come on, if you can carry 8 people in your vehicle, that has to count for something (That’s nearly 1600lbs of *humans* at average adult weight)
