My wife and I saw one of these over the weekend and she liked the idea of finding one and making it into our adventuremobile. Time to start shopping!

There’s an older car guy in my town who drives one. His is metallic blue with white accents and a white lift-off top.

They are cool little trucks. Just be aware of the handling quirks. I saw one the other weekend slightly built with the Tonka embem on the front grill. Very cool.

Be careful. Those things flip like a burger on even the slightest of curves. A friend of mine was killed in one many, many years ago.

They are great little off-roaders, so if that’s your goal, a Sammy will be a good buy. If you can find one that hasn’t dissolved into red powder, that is.
If you’re looking at it for long-distance expedition-type overland stuff, it might be pretty limited. They’re not great on pavement, and the tiny engine is going to be pretty taxed trying to haul a couple of people and a bunch of gear at anything much faster than 50-55 MPH.
I have had 3 of the successor to the Samurai - the Geo Tracker/Suzuki Sidekick/Vitara. My favorite was the four-door hardtop. With the 16V engine, it had enough poke to “cruise” at 70 MPH with a small lift and slightly larger tires. You trade some off road ability, but you get MUCH better road manners and day-to-day liveability.
If you can live with its limitations, you can’t really go wrong with a Samurai, though!

Thanks. The Sidekick does look a lot more livable.
