That Ford almost made a production V10 Mustang

It would’ve been an all aluminum, DOHC, 5.8L variation of the Modular V8, as opposed to the Triton V10. It seems that for the biggest motor, the supercharged V8 idea won out in the end, though. I mean, those are cool too, but good lord did the V10 sound good.....plus Boss 351 V10 sounds badass.

As cool as it was it was never an experiment for production. It was just Ford Advanced Powertrain messing around.
the budget was so tiny, at least by Big Three standards, that it was described to us as a CCP—a credit card project—with most of the time spent in accomplishing it coming after regular business hours, or in the spare time of the can-do crew at Powertrain Research & Advanced Engines.
