MY trees, as in the Lodgepole saplings that I planted 6 years ago at the garden nursery where I used to work. I’ve tended them once a year for the last four years, and this year was the time to cut. One is going to my parents and one to me, and if I must say, they look great!

One of the many perks of owning a Land Rover. You can drive down a river to collect your tree.

That be illegal mate! Also, our river is absolutely lethal at the moment after all the rain, it’s burst its banks after yesterday’s onslaught. How much bad weather did you get?

None. I’m in London. Bad weather for me means the air isn’t breathable.

Don't have much experience with lodge pole here in the south. All we have is loblolly. How much growth are you able to get in 6 years?

It varies based on soil type, shelter, etc. These are 9’ and 8’6”, so about 1 1/2 ft a year in a fairly sheltered location in the North East of England. They are an American native though, with the best stock coming from Alaska.
Edit: actually it will be less, these were planted as 1ft saplings.

In the future, flip the tree around so that the wind blows the branches toward the trunk, vs above which will bend them away and break.
