You’ll never cease to surprise me by how big of a self righteous prick you can be, including but not limited to, trying to one up each other on who’s the most morally superior with your snark and making light of people’s tragedies.

I can guarantee not one of them would make one of their snarky jokes in person or in front of one of the victim’s families. Sad pathetic little people.

Apathy is a sport on the interwebs.

I think if it were apathy no one would bother to comment.

The sport seems to be who can be the most vile/snarkiest/morally superior to garner the most stars/comments.

People bragging about how morally superior they are on the internet after some story about a bad thing happens? Well I never!! That’s just such a shock!

Trust me, I tend to keep to myself and not say anything after events happen. I admit that's not easy, and sometimes I do slip, but I really do. Nothing like holier than thou hypocrites jerking each other off about how great and enlightened they are to make you keep your mouth shut and let everything pass by.

And the worst part is - unlike Reddit, the stars do absolutely nothing. They aren't tracked on your profile, so what's the point?

I try to keep quite after events like that, In the summer I got FP’d after writing about a tragedy I was unfortunately present at, luckily it didn’t descend too far into the shitshow shown on gawker today, but I still had to deal with trolls.

‘A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.’

I think that quote says a lot about society as a whole. When the opportunity arises for a person to get into a large discussion with people, idiocy tends to ensue. It really is sad that grown ass people can say the things they do.
