This Friday, I will be heading to Driveway Austin to experience the Xtreme Xperience, uh, experience. I will be writing about it for Hooniverse.com, from the arrival, the pre drive classroom portion, to the car, to the drive, and the instruction. I know things like this end up being popular gifts for petrol heads, so I will also come at it from the angle of it being a good gift or not.

But, I wouldn’t be a good auto writer if I didn’t ask you all what you wanted to know, and if you had any questions that I should ask. So, ask away, let me know if you have anything at all that I should know.

I did that here several years ago at MSR Houston. I was annoyed that at the track they were selling add on driving slots, and people who had a scheduled times had to wait while folks who decided to buy more time got fit in ahead of them, made for a long wait and more than a few folks were getting upset. To top that the pace vehicle was a V6 Mustang.

I’m always very dubious of these events. They always just seem to sort of neuter the actual experience of a supercar. Yes, you get to drive it, and get to say you drove it, and get to show your friends pictures of you driving it...but did you really drive it?
