What do you think the best car to take on a roadtrip is?
Have a Saab for your time.

Land Cruiser 200. Big, comfortable, and will take you wherever you want to go when you are sick of the pavement.

OR a Range Rover Diesel. All that plus the excitement of random roadside repairs!

I did a cross country road trip in a (94?) Saturn. Wouldn’t recommend.
Driven halfway across and back in a (04?) Camry. Would recommend.
Halfway across in an 89 325is. Would recommend. (Downside is no armrests so that can be a downside and no cup holders)

Minivan. Spacious interior, better gas mileage than a conversion van.

I don’t understand how they sold any of these in it’s native country. The car is perfect for big, open highways, not small country roads.

But you don’t get velour seats in a minivan.

Cars get filthy on road trips. You want something that can take a beating. Minivans are built to survive children.

That’s hard to say, I guess it depends on the trip. If I had to pick one, I guess I’d go for a Lincoln Town Car. Sofa-like seats, leather, quiet, mid-to-high 20’s mpg, and they even still had an ashtray so I could spread cigar smoke across the country as I went.

I took a 1st gen tercel on lots of road trips, 40+ mpg on the highway.
If you’re going with more than two people though you’ll want something bigger. Something like this:
Zyrtec just kicked in, yo

Thanks for the Saab.
Depending my budget, and assuming that gas mileage doesn’t matter, I’d go for one of these:
1994-1996 Roadmaster with the LT1:
Or the S600:

I know; I was being sarcastic/obnoxious, considering Oppo’s love/hate relationship with the minivan.
