Have to drive 35 miles a day for my minimum wage job so every bit of fuel saved is pretty helpful. So I went all racecar and pulled out my back seats, rubber mats, all the junk out of the boot etc. I was even obsessive enough to weigh it all, pulled almost 45kgs out of the thing.

YESSS stripped out twingo! Building F-class cars for forza has made me want a stripped out subcompact in the worst way.

Do you actually use the passenger seat?

I don’t think I'm quite there yet haha. Might take out the passenger seat though.

Haha I wonder if it'd actually make a noticable change in handling, it's only about 5% of the cars weight so most likely not.

Don't think I can bring myself to do that to be honest, I like having a spare.

Take a dump?
I recently got 43.3mpg put of the gti on a run. With no racecar weight loss, which for the power ain’t bad.

Fold the passenger mirror back.
Take out the carpets.
Rear wiper? That can go too.

Ooh, hypermiling. You might pick up a mL/km or two by inflating the tires over spec, within the max rating of the tires, at the expense of ride and possibly handling.

I didn’t really start noticing an effect in my car until I removed about 150lb from it. My end goal is to take out at least 200lb, ideally more like 250lb.

Get some dryer ducting and affix it to the end of your stock airbox’s “snorkel” to draw in cold air from the outside.

It already draws air through piping from the lower front grille, so it gets cold air anyways.

My coffee intake means that I have always taken a dump in the last hour haha. That’s really good, I struggle to get that because the tiny power means it needs revs to get up hills and such, hurts the mpg.

I have them spot on manufacturers specs, don’t want any wear issues from pushing it much higher.

The mirror gets used quite a bit so probably wont do that, carpets are mostly gone other than forward of the front seats, I use the wiper too much to get rid.

I’m keen to point out that for most the journey I was doing 60, on a normal run its about 40mpg . In my usual 7 miles each way commute in traffic 22-31 mpg
