Ready for battle kid hauling duty. I’ve been driving the Roadmaster basically every other day. I am totally loving this car. It’s been a pain though, because I’ve been having to stop at home to get my truck so I could pick up the girls from daycare. Removing the forward facing child seat from my truck is a mind-boggling pain in the ass, so that’s not happening.
The bigger one (almost three) is finally ready for a harnessed booster seat, so we ordered one of those. My sister has the same baby carrier, but her son is too big for it now, so I borrowed her base for the little one. Now both my truck and my truckster are set up to haul the kids at a moments notice. These are the little things that make me happy.
Also, I was able to rearrange the garage to fit the beast inside. I’m pretty sure it’s never spent a night in a garage in it’s life. Honestly, I put it inside to get it out of the way in the driveway more than anything.

Wow, that’s impressive! Yep, that’s my wife’s car, although I’m pretty sure I like it more than she does. It’s a great vehicle.

Dibs on the rearward facing seat and I will pass the Cheerios up to the wee ones.

Sounds like a plan!

How are you liking the roadmaster? It's on my short list to complement the Miata for cruising, hauling, and occasionally towing. Do you have the LT1?

I do have the LT-1, and I love this car. It rides like a dream, the handling is predictable and competent, and its got plenty of low end torque for a nice hole-shot. The only knock I can give it is the interior, it’s very poorly built. Although the seats are so comfortable they makes up for it, it’s like driving your living room around.
Unfortunately I popped a brake line a couple days ago, so it’s up on jackstands right now.

Awesome, that sounds perfect, I'm mainly looking for a big comfy cruiser for commuting and such, it's pretty much between this or a supercharged riviera. Do live where there be snow? Let me know how it does if so!

Yeah, I live in Chicagoland, so there will be plenty of snow-hoonage. I’ve driven a super-charged Rivi (a good friend of mine had one for a while), and it is also an excellent cruiser. However, it won’t do any of the towing/hauling that the Roadmaster can do. This thing will swallow a lot of cargo, and if you find one with the towing package (which mine has!), it can be set up to tow up to 7000 pounds. I just can’t get over how capable and comfortable the Roadmaster is. I have an ‘06 Sierra crew cab (which I also love) that rides like hell, and it an only tow 5700 pounds.

Awesome I lived my whole life in the Chicago area until I moved to Denver last year and winters aren't nearly as bad here from what I've seen. I would kind of prefer fwd for my 2nd car at least, that's where the riviera comes in, but yeah the roadie is probably more useful. How easy is it to work on? I see some around 1-2k here and don't mind a bit of a project if it's not a pain to work on.

I’m only just starting to work on it. The area I’m having to work on, on top of the pumpkin, is going to be a biatch. The engine compartment is a lot more cramped than you’d think it would be for such a big car, but it’ll be a lot easier to work on than the Riviera probably. The back of a V6 transverse mounted engine is always a giant PITA to get to.
My truck is 2wd, I got a second second set of wheels with snow tires a few years ago, and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Honestly, rwd with snow tires is a lot easier to drive around than fwd on all seasons.
