Remember that !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in the sidewall of my unknown coworker’s car? Most of you agreed that I should leave a note, which I did. A couple of you suggested that it wasn’t worth my time, because they obviously won’t listen. I honestly thought that no good would come of it, but today I parked next to the car, and I saw a full set of brand new tires! Somebody listened! YAYYYY!!!!!

Ahh, just duct tape it. What could possiblay go wrong?

Nice. I missed the first thread, but at first glance that looks like primarily damage to the rim protection strip that a lot of low-pro tires use now. I wouldn’t replace it on my personal vehicle except for cosmetic reasons. The family car, probably just to be safe.

No no no, the adhesive will never hold.
Use a staple gun.

Hah, I remember this one! I'm surprised they got it fixed.

It astonishes me how some people just don’t care about their tires. It’s the car’s only contact with the road. Depending on the circumstances, a blowout could be life-altering.

They leave the rim as is?

We need more yous in the world. You might have saved someone’s life

Wow that's actually pretty good on them for getting a set. Let's start an Oppo poll on how long the new tires last!

Yep. All four rims have a major case of curb rash.

Was a “specially trained” person used to mount the tire? I gots to know.

They probably repaired the tires so quickly because 1 they were sick of hearing about it or 2 they do this all the time hahaha

No, that’s from whacking into curbs.

I think they actually do care about their car, because they always back into a spot way in the corner of the lot, they just obviously suck at parallel parking.

Hahahaha

I cannot for the life of me understand how people curb rash their wheels so badly.
I parallel park in downtown chicago all the time, it is not that hard.
What do they do, when they feel a little resistance of the tire hitting the curb just mash the throttle and hope for the best?!

Some people don’t care, but some people it isn’t so much a matter of caring, as they are bad at spacial reasoning and/or the hand-eye coordination in takes to parallel park. I think this person is in the latter category, because they seem to care about their car. It’s a black car that is rarely dirty, and they always back into a spot way in the corner of the parking lot.

Maybe I’m just being saved by manuel, because I frequently bump the curb but have yet to get any damage.

Perhaps!
