Every time there is a major weather event around perceived liberals, it’s God’s retribution for evil ways. A few weeks ago God showed his wraith against South Carolina, but the argument of ‘punitive weather’ never got pulled out of the bin.
Anyway, so the F1 weekend looks to be soaked at the best. Flooded at the worst. How would the sport lose it’s freaking mind if Austin got 5-6 inches of rain and flash floods destroyed and/or washed away a billion dollars in racing tech?
On that thought, has a major sporting event been ravaged by a truly deadly storm?
I mean the BIG one?
In St Louis there was a major thunderstorm that hit a StL Cardinals game as Busch Stadium. Apparently some dude has crossed God and God laid his hand upon the Dippin Dots cart to smite the offender.

First thing that comes to mind would be the earthquake during the 1989 World series.

That’s a pretty good one. When you think about it, no major disasters with that many humans piled together is kind of a feat.
State fairs on the other hand. God smote more than one of those

If god hates F1, he certainly would’ve catered to Senna, a devout Christian. But he drove, and won, in the rain. Many, many times

I feel like that happened in Metalocalypse at least once.

That was Evilution, not God.

How is F1 a percieved liberal event? It’s full of imsanely rich dudes.

Not really the same thing, IIRC there was human error with how that stage was erected that caused it to be unstable in high winds, I want to say it was an inherent design flaw but not positive.

Well, since it’s happening in Texas, clearly is a benign set of storms like the S Carolina flooding last month. Unlike, you know... Katrina.

So it’ll be another weekend like Australia 1991 or Malaysia 2009.

God is with Senna, so there’s that.

But Senna was amazing in the rain. Maybe that was the point?

Hmmm
LEWIS IS NOT #BLESSED CONFIRMED 2015

He’s been blessed by having some of the most amazing engineers behind him. He’s an amazing driver, but even he probably couldn’t win in a Ferrari or a Williams this season. Mercedes just knocked it out of the park with these new chassis.

Got it. So they only get slightly smoted :)

Whatever that Dippin Dots guy did was bad.

Someone mentioned that God likes WEC more the other day, and I was like, “uhhhh, you remember 2014 where everyone played bumper cars at the end of T12, right?”

God does like WEC more but sent some (non-judgemental) rain anyway.
