I’ve been buying a fair bit of retro gaming stuff lately and I just checked my bank account I have $28.22 to last me for the next 7 days. I haven’t been this broke in at least 5 years.
Here is what I flat out blew my money on :
And a bunch of games for each system.
Probably spent ~$500 bucks in the last 3 weeks on this stuff. I don’t necessarily regret it I just wish I still had money left.

The fact the Genesis came with the 7-Up game makes it all worth it.

It didn’t come with it but I bought it at the same time. Cool spot was one of my favorites as a kid so when I saw it I had to have it.

I’m toying with the idea of getting one of these for old games. What have you heard about them?

I think you told me about those before. It would definitely be A LOT cheaper in the long run. I had honestly never heard of them before you told me about them.

lol I still have the Sega genesis that I saved for when I was 8!

One of my had-to-haves when I bough my Genesis a few years ago. I’m still trying to find Sonic 3 for a reasonable price.

I had all this stuff stored at my dad’s house but it was all stolen by my ex stepmom to give to her nephew.
I kept every single system I ever had. literally stuff I’ve had for 30 years that vanished in a blink of an eye. Now I’m spending a fortune on trying to get back what I already owned to begin with.
If I account for what retro games are selling for now vs what I had, she probably stole about 4 grand of gaming stuff from me. Since I had a lot of the now very desirable games.

I’ve seen sonic 3 but it’s around 40 bucks over here. I’ve never played it but I did spend countless hours on Sonic 2 growing up.

yes but my fuel light came on this morning on my way to work. I’m honestly quite disappointed with myself. I’ve never let it get this bad, I always have hundreds of dollars. I still have savings but I don’t plan on touching that.
I guess I’ll put $25 bucks gas and pick up some ramen noodles.

I need to set up a bunch of my older games.
NES
N64 (see through green donkey kong edition! had since new)
Genesis

When I was younger and Genesis wasn’t an antique, I had all 3 Sonics. I’ve got 1 and 2 again, but for some reason 3 is so expensive. Oh well, I don’t have that much time to play it anyway.

My man Bubsy!

The Super Nintendo is my favorite of all. I got REAL lucky. My coworker gave me one complete in box that her kids didn’t use anymore(kids are to young to enjoy retro gaming and thought it was crap). The console is super yellowed but I went on the classifieds and found a mint but not working SNES for 20 bucks. I’m gonna take the guts out of one and put it in the other.
Now I’ll have a MINT SNES complete in box for a total investment of about $30 bucks (worth about $200)

Get it out of your system now because once that kid arrives there won’t be much time for gaming.

All 3 of these games I had as a kid. I spend countless hours with Bubsy.

I am aware. I still need to buy a bunch of stuff for the baby I can’t afford to be broke.

I have 2 gen 1 gameboys that me and my brother got as kids. I have 3 gameboy colors. I only know where one came from. If you play regular gameboy games in a game boy color you will get a little color. I have a N64 somewhere I bought from a friend in high school. I have a sega handheld somewhere too. The NES and SNES were lost over time. Oh yeah. I have an original PS, PS1 (small one), PS2 and PS3. I haven't played any in a long while.

You’ll be amazed at how much useless crap you buy for a kid. My 3 month old grew so fast there are clothes he never got a chance to wear.

I may have mentioned it, Couldn’t remember to whom I did mention it to. I think I’m probably going to get one this year. I need to play some Golden Axe and Cyborg Justice!

OH DAMN
I wish I still had my SNES, it died a tragic death, which is why i ended up with an N64. Love the SNES

It’s more the big stuff I still need to get. Crib, stroller, car seat, ect. Currently we have nothing at all. but we are not due for another 4 months and we want to wait closer to the end before buying a bunch of stuff.

Me too, I’ve still got my Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo and all my games!

which is your favorite system? for me the SNES is the holy grail when it comes to gaming.

I’ll have to say that while Sega was my first love SNES definitely has my heart. The amount of two player games really did it for me back then.

That stuff will add up quick. Hopefully you get a bunch as gifts.

No gifts here. I live on the opposite side of the country as the rest of my family and my wife’s family in on the other side of the globe. We are gonna have to buy the bulk of this stuff ourselves.

The retro bug has bit me too lately. I dug out my SNES that I used to play a ton. I haven’t played it in probably ten years because the power cord somehow came up missing. I found an aftermarket one at a local game shop and I bought it and a couple games to add to the collection. I’ve been back a couple times since for more games. I’ve also been playing a good friend’s NES a lot lately too, and I am really considering picking up either a true NES or an aftermarket remake

i feel your pain (money wise)

Nothing quite like the real deal. The SNES is my favorite console of all but the NES is a very close second place.
I find side scrolling games much easier to just have fun with.

In the three weeks since I’ve dug the SNES out I think I’ve touched my 360 once. I bought copies of Super Mario World and Super Mario All Stars, and they have been getting a lot of play time. I have been playing a little bit of all of my SNES games though

Same here. since I set up my game room I haven’t touched Forza 6 once.
$450 xbone just sitting there collecting dust.
