How close?
It also happens to be the Everett Boeing center, which means I occasionally see unpainted jets and dreamlifters.

Right there with you buddy. I live about a mile from one of the longest military flight line's in Europe.

I was by a USAF airfield in Oregon, so there were fighter jets always passing overhead.

Closer than me. You can just barely see the chinook left of the tree.

Looks like a giant Dr. Seuss creature is about to eat that plane!

Unfortunately I’ve never taken pictures, but we live within the ascent path of the local National Guard Air Base. So we get Ospreys, Blackhawks, and various fighter jets (about 2 years ago there were 2 doing chase/dogfight exercises over our house).
It isn’t a big enough strip for any C130s or anything, but they land those at Indianapolis occasionally. We get C-5’s flying in too, which are insane.

That’s way too close to an airport...

TIL they named an airport after George Bush.

nothing like waking up in the morning and looking out the back window as a KLM A380 or Air China 777 is seconds from landing.

Not big enough for a C-130, but you get C-5s?

The National Guard strip isn’t big enough for either, I should have clarified that they land them at Indianapolis International Airport.

Was really just pulling your leg on that one.

Damn. And an international airport no less. That's gotta be loud!

Awesome! I've grown accustomed to the sound of military aircraft at all hours of the night so when it's quiet and nothing's going on, it almost makes me uneasy. Do you by chance know the name of the airfield? I can't think of any active duty air bases in Oregon so I was wondering if it's maybe a Air National Guard base.

Yup, guard base. I knew a guy once who got stationed out there. Not sure if he still is though.
