I’VE MADE IT SURVIVED 6,000 MILES WITH THIS RED THING!!
To put it in perspective, the previous owner drove her 5,000 miles in 5 years. I’ve done that and then some within weeks of our one-year anniversary!! ^_^

How many total miles are on it?
![]() 10/17/2015 at 14:30 |

124,997. :)

Looks pretty damn good for that many miles!

Do you still have the badge on the nose?
6000 in a year isn’t bad for a toy. I’ve unfortunately put over 12k on the SL this year, and the gas money has been hurting me badly. Feels good to have the wagon again.

Congrats!
Might finally join the Porsche club myself soon enough. Doubt I’m gonna do that many miles per year though.

The dirtiest part of the car before I bought it were the wheels and tires!
![]() 10/17/2015 at 14:46 |

Of course I still have it! Why would I change what was done to it when new? The only thing I added were the black stone guards because the color matched ones aren’t available.
I was honestly aiming for 10000 miles. I can’t really imagine saving that much money between a V12 and V8, I can’t fathom the savings being anything but marginal.

I only got away with that mileage with three road trips, daily driving, and two driving tours, with the last being tomorrow. I bet I can get another 1000 out of her before storage.

$50 every 3 days or $50 every 5-7 days for gas. Makes a massive difference.
I thought that badge wasnt factory...it always looked crooked to me...

Is it a turbo?
![]() 10/17/2015 at 14:54 |

Nice. You’ve been rather lucky mechanically with your 944 as well, right? Unfortunately all the 944s around here are non runners or went up in price. There’s a few 924s around though.

I need to ask.
Does it dragon?
![]() 10/17/2015 at 14:57 |

Hahahaha ironic post timing .
![]() 10/17/2015 at 14:58 |

Okay, that is quite the difference.
The badge wasn’t factory, but it was a dealer “ad-on” to cover the front license bracket holes. It’s crooked, but original enough to keep.

Nope. Good’ole NA.

It’s actually kinda funny. The 924s here have a better clean-running/non-running ratio than 944s, but there’s more 944s to go around.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:05 |

How reliable is it?
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:06 |

Clean runner or box fenders. Man what a first world problem.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:06 |
|
No, it doesn’t
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:06 |

Way cool!! I can’t wait to get the 928 on the road, but between work and life I haven’t been working too hard on it.

Very.... (O_O)
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:07 |

Once the few big things that caused some breakdowns were fixed, it’s been fairly reliable.

So, Civic reliable minus the timing belt problem ( duhhhhhhh )
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:22 |
|
It’s not like the timing belt is a problem. It simply has a shorter maintenance interval than pretty much all others.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:25 |
|
So, instead of once every year, it’s once every 6 months?
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:28 |
|
It’s every 30-40,000 miles or 3-4 years. Change the waterpump and rollers every other change.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 15:34 |
|
How about the timing rubber band belt?
![]() 10/17/2015 at 16:02 |
|
That is the belt.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 16:08 |
|
Oh my god, I thought it would be every 3/4 years or whatever! This is great!
![]() 10/17/2015 at 16:11 |
|
It is....
![]() 10/17/2015 at 17:09 |
|
No, I said 3/4 of a year, like three-fourths of a year.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 17:13 |

Oh.
![]() 10/17/2015 at 18:08 |

Yea, that was my bad, mainly.

Dang, that is a great looking car. I still think that the Porsche 944 is better looking than the 911. As Clarkson would say the 911 is just a Beetle.
