Y’all ever seen Upper Control Arms with completely rotted out bushings? I have now!
So a pair of UCAs are on the way for the trail troll. The previous owners were so kind as to replace the lower arms and all balljoints at some point, and ignore the.. 2 minutes per side extra and 60 bucks in parts to handle the uppers.
Anyway, the trailtroll now has it’s rear lifted! Compare Before:
After:
It’s a little hard to tell, but if you compare to the position of the fender screws, the rear has been lifted a full 3 inches.
This weekend, I will machine the custom wheel spacers, lift the front about 2.5/3 inches, and get the tires on it. After that, some rack action, a few electrical upgrades, radiator armor plate, radios and a cellular amplifier, then take it out for a ~130 mile offroad expedition to break it in and see where to go from there!

Be careful with the front crossmember on the frame if you’re taking it off road. My Envoy’s is completely wrinkled. There’s an awesome skid plate that a guy made for these things a while ago, I’d highly suggest it.

I already fabricated a brace and skidplate for that area from steel. I suspected it was going to be a weakness, along with the radiator, and the front bumper.
