I got a series of texts from my mom last night (received at 10:30pm, event likely within the hour) and some pictures I thought I would share to Oppo.
“We had a big accident at larrys house after a high speed chase and the people took off. Police and K-9 unit after them they hid in our back woods.”
Larry is our neighbor whose house faces the main road. To get to the woods behind my mom’s house the suspects would have to go through Larry’s backyard, our backyard and then end up in a small patch of woods at the end of our property (between other homes as well).
“They caught one in the woods. It was unbelievable. The yelling. The dogs barking.”

Wally is the family dog.
“2 caught in the back woods. 1 subdued by the police dog. That dude left via ambulance. We could hear it all from our back room. Scary night.”
Our back room is basically all windows. Nice view of everything going on, I’m sure.
Looking up the details available from the news (which there are apparently a half dozen news trucks outside right now) doesn’t give much additional info. The chase started two towns over and the on-foot pursuit supposedly ended quickly. It isn’t a large area and is quick to get through the yards to so I’ll accept that...jives with my mom’s account. Anywho, their pictures sucked so here’s some from my mom.
There is a 10 inch curb in front of that fence. The stones were not purely decorative...I think this happened in the past and he wanted to put something to slow any crashes. Clearly they weren’t big enough (unlike a neighbor further down with legitimate boulders).

No details on what the suspects did outside of the fact that the vehicle was stolen.

The unfortunate part is that the fence is relatively (5 years maybe) new. It was an old white wooden picket fence before and he updated it to plastic. The guy takes great care of his yard.

O man, I just put up the vinyl fence around my backyard. that stuff isn’t cheap.
Vehicle was stolen, i bet he’ll have to do a homeowners claim.

Wow, he is VERY lucky they didn’t hit his house...
Out here in Cleveland we just had a robbery/police chase that happened in the afternoon yesterday.. The guys robbed a pizza place at lunch time (luckily just a takeout only type place..) and brandished a gun.. Jumped into their pickup and took off.. Local PD chased them, they blew through a ton of red lights then hopped onto one of the main highways in Cleveland.. Cops continued to give chase down the highway.. The guys lost control of their vehicle and slammed into the inside concrete barrier.. The passenger bolted/ran.. The driver got out and had his gun in his hand.. Cops shot/killed him right there on the highway.
They had to close the highway completely down for about five hours yesterday to conduct the crime scene.. It was finally opened back up at 5:30.. Right in the middle of rush hour.

That was my first thought because the speed to go through that curb and rocks and keep sliding was pretty decent. Fortunately the curve leading up to his house was gradual. Any sharper and it would lead right to his front door.
The stretch of road leading to the curve is a solid 1/4 mile straight...people used to drag race along there when I was little but the police really cracked down and nothing since.
