Apparently they start trading the 21st of this month. Hope I can snag a bunch early and have it close at double it’s open price

Too risky. Sergio’s already looking for a pretty outrageous valuation and the market isn’t terribly happy right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it closes low.

I don’t think the value is necessarily outrageous - but opening day speculation isn’t a great long-term plan. Wait for things to settle down, then buy in based on the actual market price.

I wouldn’t call ferrari a good investment.

It’s like a 37:1 EPS ratio. That’s outrageous.

I’d really like to have a share just for the novelty but I know there’s a few billion people out there who feel the same way. It’d be cool to get in at the bottom while it’s $50 a share but that number is going to skyrocket on Day 1.

Don’t think it’s quite that high, but it’s definitely up there. But all that means is that it’ll have to double profits in a fairly short time, and still have some growth prospects left. That doesn’t seem manifestly unreasonable, although it may not actually be achievable. Wait and see what the market thinks.

It’s also possible that the shares will be sold for more than they’re really worth because they’re not selling many, and they’ve got much more publicity with retail investors than most offerings, and the fund managers will expect some fun perks from Ferrari.

Yeah the novelty of owning a Ferrari (share :[ ) is appealing in itself, but the fact that people will buy these up and drive up the price is even more appealing

True but a lot of other stuff I’ve read is that the valuation is shit. I think it’ll jump on Day 1 and then normalize.

I’ve heard the same, I’m not playing for a long term

I agree. Besides owning 1 share to tell friends at a party, I don’t see Ferrari being a good investment. They are hoping to have a $9.8B evaluation. That is 33x total 2014 earnings.
