Hey guys its been awhile since I posted but I got a question for you all. I recently totaled my 98 Cavalier and now I’m looking at a 88 Accord with 100K miles on the odo. Does anyone have experience with this car? Is it hard to work on? Its a auto too.

If he hates fun, he could always swap in the European front, which didn’t have pop ups, but it is different.

Even though it’s a different generation, my dad had a 1990 DX 5-speed for 15 years, he loved it.

That looks so much better. Plus, you don’t have to deal with popups.

Only on the sedan though. The Aerodeck did have the popups in Europe.

I had an ‘89 Honda Accord LXi (First year they did fuel injection AFAIK) and I miss it. It was pristine, but it was my first car and doomed by my inexperience. I miss it.

I expect you’ll have a hard time finding parts. I know I had issues looking for parts for my ‘89 and that was more than 10 years ago. But honestly, it was such a nice car and it drove very well.

I had an 89 Accord LXi. Very reliable car. The manual was great, but like most vehicles of that age, the auto is a dog. I also learned that the sunroof wouldn’t shut at 110mph.

Basic maintenance was very easy, but I didn't dig into anything complex. I drove it damn near into the ground, then sold it to my friends mom, who proceeded to drive it another 5 years with no problems. Rust is an issue on that vintage of Japanese vehicles, but the mechanicals are bulletproof.
