The folks back at home cracked the engine open today and... the damage was far less extensive than it originally seemed. I haven’t seen it yet because I had to send the car back to my parents’ due to legal reasons, but according to our mechanics, the only damage was that all 8 intake valves were bent or broken. The timing components were in perfect order, which means someone probably missed a shift while revving the shit out of the engine. Add to that the extra 3 km on the odometer for a repair that didn’t require moving the car, and we got a pretty good idea of what happened.
Forget the lawsuit, tomorrow I’m going to the shop to lock the employees inside and set it on fire.
