So, here’s what we have so far (all is up for debate addition and subtraction); this will be a weekend event. There will be some early arrival, late leaving events but only 1 or 2 of each. Thinking of budget and time, I think the ideal area to stay will be in Bolingbrook there is a major freeway (not toll road which is a big deal in Chicago, if you don’t have an ez-pass or I-pass get one!)

I-55 is good because it’s also a stretch of historic Route 66, so yeah that’s cool. It’s also close to shopping and the promenade so if your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/significant other, isn’t into cars they can spend a lot of time shopping and not being bored, as well a iPic theater which are amazing.

As for events,

FRIDAY:

1900 hours, Early bird dinner/ car show. Most likely at Portillo’s hotdogs in Bolingbrook( 10ish minute drive), if you haven’t had Chicago hotdogs this is your introduction, plenty of other types of food, (burgers, brats, ribs, Salads, etc).

Saturday:

Early (700ish hours ?) drive to Chicago, cruise lake shore drive, park in Millennium park (kinda cheap $20 bucks for full day) sight seeing tour for those who want to do that, magnificent mile shopping for those who don’t. Lunch then out of there around 3pm.

Evening 1700 hours: The big oppositelock car show/meet up & dinner!

Downtown Naperville has a giant free to park parking garage! We will meet on the top level and enjoy some friendly chitchat, banter and all together fun. Then we shall head have dinner at either Giordano’s or Lou Malnati’s for some Chicago style pizza!

After we can enjoy Naperville’s great night life or head back to get read for Sunday.

Noonish start

Now folks here’s the fun bit, so I was talking with my guy who knows THE guy over at Autobahn Country Club, we want to get the club for the day, and have access to their cars for fun around the track, and enjoy the go kart track for some Opponaut racing tournament. But I’m gonna need to know numbers so if you are at all interested in this PLEASE go follow our page on Facebook so we can get numbers.

We can’t get authobahn, I’m going to try and set up with the help of the local SCCA a OPPO-cross (OPPOSITE-cross? OppoX? What ever you want to call it)

It will have the same entry requirements as that of regular auto cross, but we will have a panel of judges, (3-5) picked from the community to judge for style points, they can add or subtract time based on their opinion. We will then hand out some awards.

So please go to Facebook site and follow the page, we are going to add two or three possible dates and whichever weekend gets the most people to say they are possibly coming will be the weekend!

It is looking like August or early September next year, please let me know what dates work best for you.

Please submit art is a possibly for T-shirt and sticker designs, so far we have one submission you sought at the beginning of the page.

the Windy City Miata Club has autoXs in Schaumburg at “Boomer Stadium”, the lot is a little tight, but it was tons of fun on the day I went. You could try contacting them to see if we could join them or they can help with contacts to use that location

If there’s terrible weather we could go to K1 speed, there’s one in Addison, with is indoor go cart racing, they’re electric but still pretty darn fun and not terribly expensive ~10$/race,

As a Chicagoan I will say that driving into Chicago is not a very fun way to enjoy a car or a drive. Everything else sounds good to me.
