Anyway, all those drivers are assholes. Every time they crossed the center line, my hair stood up on the back of my neck. So many close calls with motorcycles coming the other direction.

People in SoCal drive fast because the area is huge and the weather is rarely anything but clear skies and dry roads. These guys are uniquely stupid; most are members of a pseudo-redneck subculture found in the area.

I am a little confused, maybe you can answer this. Why was everyone incapable of staying in their lane? We’re these people trying to drift? Is this some sort of event, hence the cameras? If so, why was there traffic in the opposite direction?

Honestly, that’s not even true anymore. The main roads are constantly crowded and the drivers are in econoboxes. Maybe out in the canyons but not anywhere else.
