So, i want a 2013+ triumph daytona 675R. My original plan was to go with the white one and do for a white/red accent color scheme (i’m already had 2 black bikes, one with red accenting) but, a friend of mine got a white one this year, and is going down that route. and I dont want to look like i’m copying him...so new plan.
Get a BLACK 675R, and got for a black/yellow scheme reminiscent of the older 675
So the lower fairings would go black (might just trade with my buddy)
paint the rear sub frame yellow/gold
black out/carbon wrap w/e silver is on the front end
yellow neons inside the frame
then, send the headlight off to let BKmoto do their magic:
though mine would have
yellow demon eyes,
orange outer halos (for turn signals)
possible red inner halos for when i’m parked
black background
tail section would recived a tinted squential brake light, and orange LEDs inside the vents in the tail section to flash as signals as well.
not to mention this under tail kit (you can see where i want to put my orange neons)
as for performance, K&N filter, MSJ headers and a taylor made exhaust
Id have to peel off red striping on the wheels...which i think I might leave grey. and get yellow stickers for it
(same design, but yellow)
now....to start pinching pennies and working towards this goal...

Not bad but Neon/glow on bikes is one of the trashiest mods out there. I liken it to “stancing” or putting underglow on a car. It looks stupid and screams “I want attention” in a desperate fashion.

I need photoshop to make it happen, can’t visualize it very well. Sounds like it will be a nice combo though. I really want to step up to a ‘15 675. I’ll take mine in white/blue.

I was tempted to go 675 in white and blue...switch it up from black and red...
but they dont offer the R in white /blue, and I REALLY want the brembos and olhins of the R. (legit, its like another 1500 on top of the non r and you get like 4G worth of parts)

Exact response I thought you would come back with. The only situaton where your glow might make you any more visible than a good tail and headlight is if you are sitting right next to a car. A situation that should almost always be avoided anyway.
Save you self some money and quit lying to yourself.
Also if you like the color combo your friend bought the bike in, just buy it. Who cares if it looks like you copied him.

on cars, i did think it was ehhhh...on bikes it always worked for me. IDK why.
also, because I like to be a little different. you saw just how much work I put into the SV. I didnt need too. I wanted to. (also, thinking about it, white seems kinda hard to keep clean....)

I’m not good enough to utilize the improvements. It may be worth it for you though.
Off-topic, heading to the drag strip tonight for the first time on my 675. Any advice? I’ve been before, but only in my car.

ehhh...screamer at a drag race...
do you want the super fast, but destroy your clutch? because you can keep the revs up at max power/torque and slip the clutch until you match the speed and go for it
OR just launch how you normally do. you will be slower, but saving your clutch plates
as for shifting, i hardly use the clutch anymore. 1-2, maybe 2-3. from 3 on, i just cut the throttle and quick-shift.
picking up the front wheel a little isnt bad...but dont trade speed for wheel height.

Fairing bikes are waaay easier to do a quick clean on than naked. It won’t be that bad to keep clean. If I buy the 899/959 I’m going with white for sure.

going on the 959,. i cant believe their ‘small’ sports bike is now a liter bike...holy shit. thats going way to far.

because I like fairings. and the speed triple is pricey as shit LOL.
I admit i debated buying a Speed triple R, then re-tro fitting the old daytona 675 fairings to it. but thats waayyy too much $

Thing is its never been a small bike like a competitor to the R6 and co. It’s always been a middleweight. Some people in the rumor mill say they will release an actual 600ish cc but idk with how big of a sales success the 899 has been so far.

I guess...but at 45cc from a liter, can you call it a middle weight anymore?
the triumph stayed at 675, so its close enough....GSXR had the 600, the 750 (middle) and the 1000....so IDK.
you might be right on the smaller version...they did say they were going to focus more on the american market, and a smaller CC sport bike could do the trick for them,

Well, you have to look at the rules for racing and how that has affected the now 1299 Panigale. In comparison, the 959 is a middleweight.
![]() 10/07/2015 at 17:36 |
|
yea, in comparison to that....but doing you find it a little odd that the ‘middle’ is 1l and the ‘big’ almost has the same CC as a friggen hayabusa?

I think it stems from Moto GP and the different set of regulations for V-twins. Thas what ive heard at least. Also that 1299cc bike weighs the same if not less than the liter bikes.
Another thing with the 959 is hopefully they fix the 899's biggest criticism and give it better gear ratios.

they probably wont. they are italian. they planned on it, but then decided to go and have some lunch instead.
soo...not only is the 1299 30% bigger, but also lighter....and makes more torque....
if there is a size cap, stick to the size cap. whats the point in having on then? bring on the 2492CC ducatis!

V-twins for some reason are allowed a higher displacement. No idea why though.
