There are plenty of chipotle type places some of which are better than chipotle.

I don’t think we as Americans should complain if our portion sizes shrink a little bit.
Because they need to. Quite a bit.

I’m not sure I agree with you. I don’t think it’s so much about our portion size as the quality of the food. Chipotle offers one of the least unhealthy options in its segment. I appreciate that I can go there and get something relatively healthy and actually feel full. To get that much food for that price elsewhere, I’d have to eat a bunch of crap at McDonalds or Wendy’s or some other nastiness, and I’m not going to do that.
But I shouldn’t have to walk around hungry all the time because I happen to be American and 6’3.” We’re a bigger people. As long as we’re proportionally burning the calories, I think it’s okay to take more in than Europeans or Asians.

Portions are definitely one of many factors that play a role. Go to a restaurant in Europe and look what their portion sizes are compared to the same meals here in the U.S.
Ours are significantly larger. Is it the main reason? No. Does it contribute? Absolutely.

Yes. I know. I’ve been to restaurants in Europe. I left hungry. What I’m saying is that I don’t have a problem with bigger portions, as long as there’s proportional exercise to burn the calories.
