I have to start getting ready for my flight in one in a half hours. Should I not go to sleep or get one hour of sleep and just pray to God I’m not groggy after I wake up. Opinions?

How long is the flight? Will you be able to get your head down for an hour or so once airborne? Will you be able to go straight to the hotel once you land for a couple of hours or so shut-eye?

Don’t sleep, did that and I was perfectly fine.

well it’s an hour to houston, two hour layover there, 5 hour flight to San Francisco, and then a 11 hour flight to Osaka. I might just end up trying to sleep on the flight to san fran.

That small nap would do me wonders personally

Probably best. The two hour layover will be the telling part, trying to keep awake but not wanting to keep too awake that you don’t get any shut-eye on the five hour flight. Keep hydrated and keep alert. Missing a flight is not a good idea. Enjoy your flights and I hope they are both peaceful and restful.

I swear I’m the same way before flights, never get any sleep. The thought of having to deal with everything involved just keeps me awake.

Yep, they are the worst and also the talkative tourist (headphones even if they aren’t plugged in will reduce or stop this, providing they don’t see it’s not plugged in).

From my experience flying Sea-Tac to Shanghai (13hrs), stay awake on the flight. It will make the sleep adjustment far easier. What is the local time when your flight lands?

Yeah that sounds like a pretty terrible time to wake up well rested lol. I would say plan ahead and get sleep earlier but it is a little late for that I guess! Might as well just YOLO it and sleep all you can. I am sure nightlife in Japan could be fun anyways.

1 hour of sleep is better than no hour of sleep
