After scoring a used 2.0l Mercedes Benz diesel out of a salvage W123 for the 2016 season, Manor-Marussia F1 has been adopted by Williams-Martini Racing.

“We are proud to announce the adoption of Manor-Marussia,” Williams-Martini Racing said. “This poor little bugger of a team was left to die last year and after watching them play with an old Ferrari GP2 car this year we saw something in them that just melted our hearts.” Williams will be giving them food, shelter, suspension systems, and an old top loader that they found lying around out behind the shed. “We look forward to seeing what they can do next year with our help. If nothing else, they’re still in better shape than McLaren, Red Bull, or Team Lettuce.”

ugh... satire.

Besides, having “B” teams like RBR/STR would be a good thing for F1.

R&D costs would be spread among two teams, smalll teams would benifit from it and big ones would get extra return on investment.

Win for big teams, win for small teams, win for fans.

Unless the A team quits and takes all four cars and goes home....

I think that possibility is less probable then having small indepenpant teams going bankrupt because they can’t do shit.

Good point though.
