Only in the Detroit area do you get wrong number text messages about classic car parts. Shame he didn’t have anything Mercury.

Awesome. That’s my wife holding my son, they were putting an ornament on the xmas tree last year and I thought it was a cool background, never changed it and it’s almost in season again.

I haven’t tested the theory, my dad (I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it but he’s a master mechanic, has been for decades) thinks I have a freeze plug or 2 thats rusted out on me....only problem is he’s pretty sure I have to drop the trans to replace them, which should be the opposite of fun.

What I’ve found out is it’s running out of antifreeze, it’s dumping out the back of the engine somewhere. One friend of mine jumped on headgaskets, which had me worried, but that would most likely leak internally and make a mess of my oil (which hasn’t happened, at least not at such a significant level.)

So that’s the theory. I just need some time and a bit of cash to do it.

If you have a puddle roughly equal to the amount you’re losing, it’s probably a freeze plug.

The cheapest parts to replace always take the most work.

Well if we yank the whole motor there’s no point in dropping the transmission out!
