My favourite song this week. It's catchy as hell, and has some ironic lyrics, at least for me. I'll give you the gist: He complains that his old peeps all got jobs now and have no time to party.
"Everybody plays golf, they all drive Passats (our Camrys)
Nobody is getting a Wu-Tang tattoo on their ass
Nobody did the Moonwalk after Michael died
They all eat salad, all on diet, nobody eats meat
Nobody drinking beer through a funnel, they only drink wine
In the olden days everybody was already shitfaced on a thursday
....
They all go running, talking about heir body mass shit
....
They all move to the countryside, Silver-Ware, Golden-Retrievers"
...
You get it.
The funny thing is, I am one of those people. I am sitting here on a Friday night, drinking a white wine, planning on going to bed early at a reasonable time, because I have a shit ton of papers to grade tomorrow. But still, when I look at my old partners in crime we are all going that way. Kids, mortgages on a house in the middle of nowhere, etc...
It's the way of life. And it is good! You can't be 20 4eva. The song still makes me smile!

I would totally do Susan Sarandon. Does your mom look like Susan Sarandon?

Are you aware that Susan Sarandon is 68 right now?

Well, I'm 48. I'm thinking more of the Bull Durham version of Susan Sarandon.

There's always her daughter.

We age as we get older.
Used to be that I was out drinking on the weekends, and drinking most of the days after work. Now, I don't drink and the thought of paying money to get into a crowded bar makes me cringe.
Looking at that living room made me think "Oh, God, pick that shit up..."
While not the genre that I typically listen to, I do agree that it's a catchy tune...that makes me feel old.

Felt the same about that living room. Been there, done that, didn't get the T-shirt. Yet nothing to look back for. I absolutely had my fun when I was young! Might even have extended that phase of life for as long a was reasonable, but at some point you just have to move on, or you will become a comedy stereotype yourself.
