safety first! I feel bad for the GAU-8 though, it looks like she got some damage there. The A10 was probably flying the next day.

I never noticed that before. Looks like the barrels, end plate and heat shield came loose. I'm guessing the barrels actually come out pretty easy so they can get swapped out in the field so it probably isn't serious damage.
It might be as simple as resetting the barrels, putting the heat shield back in place and fastening the end plate on but I would assume they would go through it pretty thoroughly regardless. The GAU-8 isn't really the kind of gun that you want just slapped back together after it gets damaged.
