Every single dealership in the greater Pensacola area is closed on my one day off.
Welcome to the bible belt.
Pictured: the three vehicles I wanted to go see, all at different dealerships. Both the Jetta TDI and the Camaro are 6speeds.

It's weird how some dealerships are open on Sundays and others aren't. I went to ford on a Sunday. There were people walking around in nice clothes. I was getting mad that no one was helping me until I realized the small hours sticker on the door said closed. All the men in suits came from church I guess.

Call me a heretic but I actually much prefer the appearance of the MK6 Jetta over the MK5.

Yeah... that's how it works around here. Gives you a day to go look at the cars without being hounded though, good for when you have zero clue what you're really looking for.
Also, TDI TDI TDI TDI TDI TDI!

I have a serious soft spot for the Town Car.

I have a Grand Marquis but I'm tempted by the dual exhaust, white walls, and most importantly the sunroof.

What? I thought Sat and Sun are mandatory for all car sales people? Sunday is probably THE best day for lot traffic.

Same here in Baltimore County, MD. All liquor stores are closed, and you can't sell anything alcoholic in a grocery story.
So technically the closest I can get to alcohol today is by going to church and drinking some of Christ's Blood.

I recently moved to Northern Virginia and went looking for a job. Interviewed at a few car dealerships and they all required at least two Sundays a month to work. I would have received one day off in the middle of the week.
My quality of life would be zilch. I don't know how people with families can take being in the car biz. One of the jobs was as a service writer, not just sales. The only option that looked halfway decent was CarMax. They offered a part time sales position, but that would have required me to work every Saturday and Sunday. And I enjoy football too much for that to be a long term solution. It's too bad. In this economy with the gas dropping I probably would have made a poop-load of money. I guess I'm at a point in y life were money isn't everything.

I used to have a Grand Marquis, and believe me: there is nothing wrong with upgrading. Especially seeing how you can pick up a fully-loaded Town Car for cheap.
