They are legal now as they were sold in the states. They are also typically way overpriced for what they are.

I could bring it in NOW???
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:18 |

For $20K?!?!
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:21 |

Those are turbos. The one you posted isn't.
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:22 |

The one that is $12000 is a non turbo.
Why do you want one of these?
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:22 |

Oh... I still want one ;)
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:25 |

Front drive - it is not the answer.
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:26 |
|
Are you sure???
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:27 |
|
Because I could say that I had a Lotus (and the ladies would be impressed ;)
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:28 |

lol.
You could pick up a classic Elan or a Esprit for less than $10k. An Elan 2+2 goes for like nothing and they are really easy to maintain.
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:29 |

An Esprit?
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:31 |
|
wow looks like they are $20k minimum now. I'm thinking like 10 years ago I guess.

Classic Elans look like they still got for cheap though.

GAH the cheapest Esprit is 23K!

Hammond brought one to a challenge ... front drive.
![]() 09/30/2014 at 23:38 |

yep, thats why I like it! That and it would be totally be unique!

Save money, buy a Miata
![]() 10/01/2014 at 00:04 |
|
It's funny, because that's actually what I'm planning on doing :) NA with sticky tires, a rollbar, and a better shifter (because racecar!)
![]() 10/01/2014 at 00:12 |
|
Better shifter? Miata's have the best transmission out there. Don't waste your money. Get a proper suspension set up first. They are ridiculously fast at autocross when set up properly
![]() 10/01/2014 at 00:14 |
|
Not unique, but few of them left - I'd say test drive and see if you like the driving dynamics. It's a Lotus, so they're probably sorted the handling.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 00:15 |

The stock shifter on an NA Miata is really notchy though... but I will agree on suspension, just it is expensive :/

The closest one is probably in Dallas... 6 hour drive ;(
![]() 10/01/2014 at 01:10 |
|
Front wheel drive that we would buy (at the right price.)

A decent classic Elan (non- +2) for less than $10k? Show me one and I'll buy it instantly! An Esprit for less than $10K? I would not dare even touch it.
