MY CAR , dang it! Everyone has the Evo. No one ever has the base Lancer. Not even the 2.0L DE, ES or early GTS trims. Every time I want to run a sim to learn a track before I go drive it, zero, zilch, nada on the 2.4L '09+ Lancer GTS.
Naturally aspirated 944s are far too rare, too. I can usually find the Turbo. Not so with the base model. Mine doesn't behave in quite an OHMYGOSH NOW THERE IS BOOST manner, so it's not the best simulation of my putt-putt-puttery '84.

I can't find an E36 328i sedan, let alone a pinto wagon.

That's because the base Lancer is laaaaaaaaame!

I'm pretty sure there was a base Lancer in Need For Speed Underground on PS2 (albeit, a different generation).
EDIT:

That used to be my car, 2009 Lancer GTS. It was not bad by any means. Never had any issues with it. My brother now owns it, and it is still as new. Hand it to him with 30k miles like 4 months ago.
Photo of the first day I got it.

Still waiting on the 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE or a 2003 Town & Country (the two cars I learned to drive on). Maybe we can force game makers to create an Oppositelock car pack for their games.

C5 A6 Wagon..... ultra boring and not common :'(
At least the Lancer had a moment. I remember people saying "OMG, they sell Lancers in America! Yeah Lancers like in Grand Turismo... yeah Lancers!!!" Plus the aweaome that is the EVO. 1999 A6 wagon..... Que es un pinche A6 Wagon? *cricket sounds*

Ha! It's my old house from a long time ago. When we were renting it, the owners cut it like a mushroom, and it still looks short and squatty like a grown-out topiary. Haha.

My dad's got a 1970 98. It's a smooth machine. We drove it to atlanta in glorious comfort. Totally worth 9.7 mpg.
We're restoring a '73 Delta 88 Royale Convertible. Got it from the original owner for $1500. Unfortunately it is triple turd brown. I can't wait until we finish it; full size convertibles are amazing.

WINNING! I like the brown, heh. Period-appropriate.
Ours was an '88 Ninety-Eight. I thought that car was the coolest thing ever when I was little...and shoot, it's still pretty cool.
There's a fifties-era one in town that blows my mind (no clickbait, actually does). So clean. So awesome. So much chrome and swag. Umph.

That is genuinely surprising. Look at this list . There are 16 Daihatsus. Daihatus! Most people in the U.S. haven't even heard of Daihatsu! I like how they made room for 16 Diahatsus but not one entry level Lancer.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 01:46 |

Haha, right?! The Daihatsu list is amazeballs, though.

It was a special order car.
It had the 455, dual exhaust manifolds, power everything. Good options.
But when the original owner ordered it, he checked a brown top, brown trim, brown interior, and brown exterior.
He said he bought the 88 because they stopped making the 442 convertible in 72. If he'd gone to the dealer a year earlier, he would have gotten a brown-on brown-on brown 442 instead.
He's a nice guy; I'm glad I'm fixing the car. I'm on the fence about painting it brown again, but it is not getting brown carpet.

Ok. Bacon story.
New England Forest Rally, 2011. It's my second event (and my second event with Bacon). I put a little tag on him with my cell number and a message saying I wanted to try and get him in as many cars as possible over the course of the weekend. So Thursday evening we're lined up for shakedown with the other teams and I pass Bacon off to Alex Kihurani. Alex takes him on a couple shakedown runs, but after shakedown Bacon is gone. Just straight up vanished.
Friday ends, Saturday starts, and I'm going around asking all the teams if they've seen a little red dinosaur. Nobody's seen him. I do my thing, hoping someone will find him and call my cell number, but it doesn't happen. Friday ends, Saturday starts, and it's the same thing. Finally after a long day the rally's over and I've accepted Bacon's gone forever. We pull into parc ferme at the end of the rally, I'm gathering my stuff together, the next car pulls in, and there's Bacon in the driver's window just grinning right at me. Mind blown. Not only that he found his way back to ferme, but that he was in the very next car, and that he was in the window facing me. I ask the driver where he found Bacon and the driver says "I have no idea, he just appeared in the car at some point."
To this day I still have no idea where he was all weekend.

I always found a way to make my car in GT5 and GT6. Start with a Z06, add weight, subtract power, adjust suspension. Granted, there was always a bigger contact patch...but...

It's alright, you're not alone. Most people don't even know that a tubro'd Subaru that isn't a WRX/STI exists. Yeah it's a boat but it ain't no Kia Sedona.

![]() 10/02/2014 at 18:30 |

lol, I had to reference The Hip. Nice Capri, man! One of my all-time dream cars. Is it a Tickford?
![]() 10/02/2014 at 19:13 |

No, but it is turbo charged. Its a super low production race car from the German Touring Car Championship, its called a John Players Special, just like the F1 cars. This one is #46 of 50 built by Krabb Racing in 1975. I think it raced in Group 2 in that series.
I would also like to point out that its not mine, its my fathers. Mine is a bit more ragged...

![]() 10/02/2014 at 21:18 |

Its basket case lol. It will be awesome one day. I made an offer on an Offy barrel intake for the 2.8 in my drive way, so maybe a Crapri rally car is in order.

Hear, hear!
![]() 10/03/2014 at 11:06 |

Step 1: Windsor 302 and T-45 swap
Step 2: M90 supercharger from a GTP
Step 3: Hater pipes, eight of them.
Step 4: profit.
![]() 10/03/2014 at 21:41 |
|
My dad already has a MK3 with an EFI 302 breathing nitrous. I can't do the same. The Crapri is supposed to get an SHO 3 litre. That's why I originally bought my DHO Taurus, but it is too nice to kill and part out.
![]() 10/04/2014 at 09:24 |
|
Powerstroke + boost controller + thru-tha-hood stacks + trac-lok
OR
Modular V10 + T-45 + Two holset HX35 turbos from cummins rams + intercooler from a powerstroke + side-pipes = 800 HP Capri.
Whatever you do, give it a Capri Sun livery.
![]() 10/04/2014 at 09:32 |
|
keep in mind d that the engine bay in the Capri is TINY. A Windsor small block barely fits and it won't even fit with a mechanical fan. Good luck shoe horning a V10 let alone a diesel. I know of a guy who managed to get a 428 in one, but that was a tube chassis wearing a Capri skin.
![]() 10/04/2014 at 09:36 |
|
ah man, i forgot about the k-frame on those. Since it's technically german, how about a BMW straight six from a 325? silky smooth, and fits the demeanor of the car to a T.
![]() 10/04/2014 at 09:43 |
|
Still have to cut the firewall me thinks. Might be able to fit something wider in there if I use a Mustang II front suspension. Then I could get rid of the front strut towers, they also double as the wheel wells, which is why the bay is so small. This one has actually been trimmed to fit the 302 easier.
Its a Mako V8 by the way.
![]() 10/04/2014 at 09:44 |

hmm, so a short, decently powerful, refined motor. 1UZ, perhaps?
![]() 10/04/2014 at 10:03 |
|
cool as that would be, it seems wrong to put a Japanese motor in it. And that one is kinda like the Japanese equivalent of an SBC. If it was more unique and didn't require big modifications, IE, firewall and wheelwells, maybe.

there is a guy on the CCNA that uses a VW 4 pot. He even milled his own twin can head.
