Coming from a 2007 Focus PZEV, it's like heaven. Like heaven over easy with hash browns, two strips of bacon, wheat toast and a glass of tomato juice.

Maybe the 3 pedal goodness was enough to scare off any potential carjackers.
The likely (and probably true scenario) is that the owner just forgot. Happens to all of us, I'll even admit it's happened to me before (damn push to start ignitions!)

I went from a vibratey, seats-like-wicker-baskets, 122 hp FWD econobox to a smooth, leather, more-features-than-we've-found-so-far 227 hp AWD near-luxury (I guess that's what they call 'em) sedan. The wife and I could not be happier :) The funny thing? They weigh about the same :|

Haha I'm in a vibratey 70hp FWD econobox at the moment. At least my seats are comfortable though. I imagine that will soon change once I graduate next year though, me thinks a nice hot hatch is in my future.
