Oppo, I was wondering what is the best canyon carver/mountain pass car that you've driven or even what you think would be fun to drive on a mountain road?
I would go with something lightweight, good brakes, handles well, rwd, and has enough power to have fun with but not too much.
Modified or stock awd, rwd, or fwd it doesn't matter as long as it's street legal.

4-wheel disc brakes, open high-ratio diff, close-ratio 5-speed gearbox, 7000RPM redline on a silky smooth I6, communicative steering and narrow easy-to-slide tires, and big, tail-happy ass.
2800lbs w/ 150 HP.

E63 AMG. Watching the world go by as a blur while my arse was cooled and my back massaged would be glorious. Plus Canyons make great echo chambers for 6.2l of V8 thunder.

pft, SL600. The wagon isn't much of a canyon carver in it's current form, but when I get to to the coilovers, that will be changed.
4800lbs, 400hp, RWD, drop top, bose sound system and a big ol' V12.
Handles a whole lot better than you'd expect for it's size and weight. I wouldn't throw it into a turn too hard, but it'll be a lot of fun powering out of every single turn.

if you want the best carver, you wont something like this:
really, when it comes to having fun /dollar, you just CAN NOT beat a bike.
also, all fo this: XXX car has the best drivering experiance, you feel so connected to the road?
they will feel like a truck compared to a bike. you really are connected to the road when you weigh 25% of the entire weight of the bike+you.

Best I've personally driven is the BMW M Roadster I had. Best I would like to drive would be a BMW Z8.

I'm also going to get a custom alignment on the Magnum, and I think I'm going to put the budget into the coilovers before winter...not 100% sure yet, but we'll see what the shop will charge me
