What's non-M-like about the E9X and E60?
![]() 09/24/2014 at 12:09 |
|
I don't see an X6M there

I would incline to disagree with you. I think the last pure M car is/was the 1M.

Define "real BMW M cars." Because that's a nebulous assertion at best.

I agree with the E46 being the last real M3 - The E60 was pretty 'Mpressive, though (Yeah, I just did that)

The E90 M3 is %100 M. Amazing thing.

Disagree, but it depends on how you define "real".
The last real M cars were the E30 M3 and E34 M5. They were created from chassis pulled off the regular production line and finished at BMW Motorsport ( not BMW M). Everything after that was a hopped up street car, built on the same line.

I should of kept my E46..

I thing you've forgotten a few...
(And no: not just the GTS, a E92 is a real and awesome M)

This is a tongue in cheek post. There is no actual definition for "real M car"

It's a joke

Indeed, you could argue "real" M cars ended when they became hopped up street cars, as opposed to detuned race cars. But that severely limits the models available. It's all subjective.

I think I do. The sarcastic content of a statement will be dependent upon the context in which it appears. No context here. Seeing quite some replies I'm obviously not the only one missing context.
![]() 09/24/2014 at 13:35 |

All caps. Nobody writes anything serious in all caps.
![]() 09/24/2014 at 13:45 |

You'd be surprised. Also, no caps in:
Down on the NYC street
That post-header in Caps ain't contexting no one, at least not me (and a few others I suppose), I'm sorry.
But I'm glad you were being sarcastic. Because the E92 is awesome, a real M. And that Z4 as well. And I would never take that (also highly appreciated!) E46 or E39 over them. And you got quite some replies ;-)

Great car, but turbos =/= pure, imho.

Lesson here: Don't joke. ///M-people are serious folk.
