Why not?

Because no one would buy it

Id take this over a new Mustang anytime. It just looks so much better. I still think the Mustangs tiny headlights make it look squinty.

Now it looks even more like a fish.

Bring back the Cougar!

I just don't like that it is so obviously a mustang. The body would need to be more differentiated IMO.

dissenting opinion: Why do it?

8/10 would buy. It's been too long since we've had a hot-rod Lincoln.

I would if the interior is much improved.

No, you would spend that money on the more powerful engine.

Nah, that would be awful.
However, would it be possible to use the Mustang platform, stretch it to 4-doors and make a true CTS competitor?
I don't know the Mustang architecture well enough to know if it's modular enough to do that, but if it is, they should do it yesterday.

Easy solution - make the Mustang I4 only and require an upgrade to a Lincoln to get the larger engine. Works for the Fusion/MKZ.

If they could stretch the budget to afford new door pressings, I'd say go for it. Would make for a gorgeous Mark IX, if all the equity behind the Mark names hadn't been ruined by sticking MK on everything under the sun.

Dude. I like that a lot.

Despite my post earlier. I wanted to hate this, but I don't.
I think they're much better off with 4 doors though.

That's sexy and should be made
