Blonde woman from Florida in her diesel is here to confirm all your stereotypes.

gas in diesel much worse than diesel in gas. ouch, hopefully she caught her mistake before firing the engine

Indeed she did.

Lol, this usually goes the other way around as diesel handles are always green, so diesel owners are usually pretty good at noticing the lack of aforementioned green. But blonde so probably facebook or whatever blondes are distracting their faces with these days.

Poor Duramax.

There wasn't even a diesel nozzle at this pump.

All the diesel handles I notice are dark brown and filthy with a hint of green where the grip is.
Seriously, why can't they clean those things?

Right, thats kind of what I was getting at, no green, at all... As a former diesel owner you kind of get used to spotting those things from the street.

Do you live in the south?

And I mean, two of the regular pumps have those green handles, but they have two separate diesel pumps. Diesel ONLY. Like, damn.

You can't (at least here) do the diesel in by mistake one as diesel pumps have wider nozzles.
Solution: buy one of those vehicles (Ford do them) which prevent misfuelling.

I've noticed here in Florida that there are green handles for gas for some idiotic reason.

my tdi has a specially modified filler that prevents you putting in gas

As long as she didn't start it, the Duramax is fine. The owners wallet on the other hand...

I work for a car manufacturer where we are driving different cars every day. It is pretty simple to be completely blank and not even think about what you are doing, when it isn't your normal car. Luckily, I have haven't had it happen to me, but I do know of at least 3 people who have filled Gas into the diesel engines.
1. Proto-type from Germany, so the dealer was all in a huff when we towed it there because they didn't have any of the "manuals" do it. Aka unscrew the bolt on the tank and get the fuel out and then bleed the lines.
2. My boss family weekend, 6 hours away. hehehehehh

If it doesn't make sense anywhere else, it makes sense here.

Hrm. They are usually pretty clean throughout most of the north west, south west, north, and north east....

Diesel pumps are always green? If you're abroad, be careful...

About a year ago, I was getting gas off the turnpike in Jersey, and requested 93 Octane. The guy who fills (state law in Jersey), who was having an off day I guess, filled me with 87 and the Accord behind me with 93.
I made them drain it ;)

Super cheap gas, however.

I'll pay more to pump my own damn gas.
