I agree to a certain extent but the saying could be flipped. Drag racing takes alot of skill to be consistent and competitive, while a good car road racing will make the driver look a lot better

People who say OMG REACTION TIME THOUGH have to realize that drivers also have amazing reaction times.

Truth be told, at the lower-end / non professional level, a lot of drag racing has to do with proper launching, surface control, and tuning for the environment.

Modern Drag racing is all about the car and a working suspension. The fact that Sabine Schmidt can lap a van faster than any oppo is proof that track driving is still more about the driver than the car.

It depends what you're talking about. I think at the bottom and top end of drag racing to be competitive takes a lot of skill. I think it's the middle where you can kind of just throw cash at it.
Certain road course classes are pretty much guy with the biggest wallet takes home the trophy. I think spec racing is one of the only places where drivers really stand out and is one of my favorite things to watch.
One funny conversation I had with a friend who's a bracket racer was about our distaste for NASCAR. I said it didn't have enough turns he said it had too many.

Shouldn't it be the "walk," since talk is cheap?

I'm so glad someone brought Rally into this conversation! My absolute favorite of the motorsports.
