pay us $1344.99 over 12 months to not keep a $1000 video card. Sounds too good to pass up!

Seems legit.

Litecoin/Dogecoin Mining, Bitches! Graphic card prices have doubled or tripled in the last 12 months, and most models are completely out of stock.
I'm just glad I picked up twin Radeon 7850s back when they were $80 a piece. I could probably flip them now for $100-200 profit each.

Their website says that they are the "leader in leasing graphics cards" so apparently there is a market for this..

Err, what? I mean, I know that was somewhat the case toward the end of last year, but now, the 290x had backed completely off of it's batshit $699 pricetag, and newegg has every flavor the R9 in stock at market prices or below, all the way up to the dual GPU monster.

Actually, you're right. I hadn't checked new prices before posting, since last time I checked the prices were still insane.
I wonder if it has something to do with purchase agreements and failing hardware, as a way to shift liability or reclaim broken hardware for refurbishment.

Why stop at the card? You can pay $10k for a whole $1k computer right now! Just come in with your $3k down payment and pay $200/mo to own the most badass midrange computer you've ever spent $10k on. Come talk to us today!

This is the first I've ever heard of this.
And it's horrifying. If this is the future, I want no part of it.

This sounds ridiculously stupid. Why not just save up? Also, I spent $320 with tax on the ACX cooled 760. Why would you willingly pay closer to $400 (before tax) for the same card?

Financials aside, it's not the worst idea ever depending on if there's any residual at the end.
You get a new card every year without having to buy a new card every year.

They have a GTX Titan Black.

Your also paying full price + extra for a card you don't own.

If that's how the lease is structured, then yeah, it's dumb.
If it's a $1000 card and you are only paying ~$600 or so over the course of the lease (for the sake of example I'm assuming $450 residual and $50 finance charge), then suddenly it's not that crazy. Now you're getting a great card for the price of a good one, and you get to upgrade every year.

There doesn't appear to be any consideration for residual value. That wouldn't work out for a $1k card anyway since they don't depreciate like that. The Titan is already a year and some change old, but the average used price is hovering around $950 - not even 10%. And this is in a post titan black and titan Z world. There are the occasional people in a tough spot who dump theirs at reduced prices, but they are the exception, not the rule.
