Martin Keller practiced in the vicinity of residential Juan Gaviota. Flying Stearman PT-17 World War II training aircraft, in which the experienced pilot practiced acrobatics at the Port of San José, Escuintla, in Guatemala crashed into the sea and fell into a breakwater in front of the residential Juan Gaviota Marina.
The aircraft, registration TG-JEN, crashed and destroyed on impact and flying low after a spectacular maneuver, but the aviator was only with some punches. The pilot was the only occupant and amazingly escape with only minor injuries.

Bummer. Glad the pilot swam away. Shame about the Stearman - only a finite number of those left...
There is a guy who regularly flies stunt patterns in his Bipe off the Jersey Shore where my in-laws have a place. He's always too far away for me to ID the plane, but it is fun watching him loop, stall, and I'll his way through the sky.
I have never seen him even get close to the water - he always climbs out sufficiently. Self preservation gene taking over there...
