Rhino Ramps rule.

Yes, but you're supposed to have the car level when draining the oil, otherwise you get a pocket of old oil stuck in the oil pan away from the drain plug.

Just went outside and took this photo:
It's actually a pretty good design for when changing the oil yourself using ramps/2 jackstands.

So the hole's at the rear of the pan? You're right, that's perfect. Clearly they designed it with ramp/jackstand oil changes in mind. Carry on then, good sir.

I've always wondered about these and whether I should get them. There's just some part of me that thinks I'm going to try and drive up them and they'll just slide away without me getting onto the ramps.

I can't use ramps. The front of my car is too low and the bumper hits the ramp before the tires do.

Get them, it is very easy to get the car up. They don't slide at all. The only issue could be if your car is lowered or you have an aggressive front lip spoiler.

I've seen people do this:

Well, I have access to a lift so it doesn't really matter to me.

Do they make ones that are a lower angle, but go higher up?p than standard?

my friend's accord has its drain plug on the back if the pan (it's so weird) so we actually get more oil out when using ramps

as do I, but sometimes I wish that I could just change my oil at home :/

Google image search, not mine, but almost the same thing (this is the premier trim, I have a base model).
I think I'll be alright if you can get a Mustang on it.

That would be me. 2005 Mustang GT with Cali Special front end. I cannot back straight out of my driveway. I have to cut the wheel. Cobra Jet springs. Car sits about a half an inch lower than stock. It's the bumper that kills it.....

For what its worth, Honda Odysseys also have their oil drain plug at the back of the pan. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that.

Maybe automakers are starting to realize a lot of oil changes are done with the nose jacked up
