I'm pretty sure this is one of the most Jalop vehicles ever. It's effectively a wagon, open-top, mid-engined, all-wheel drive equivalent, has a low seating position to take the corners fast (but has a smooth ride), and is even convertible to amphibious. It's also antique, military, underpowered (85hp), and is 8300lb despite being more or less a compact. Prove me wrong.

Plus, Doug will need this for surviving winter/traffic/crime in Philly. #flamesuiton!

I dunno, this thing's open topped. Maybe if he travels with an MG crew and a gas heater.

Too wide to license as a road vehicle... probably. I think the UC is actually road legal in a lot of jurisdictions - plus, it can do like 35.

Plus, the turning radius is fantastic. Never make a three point turn again.

Funny story about that...
You see, the universal carrier uses a Ford truck flathead V8, trans... and rear axle. As a consequence, unlike a normal tracked vehicle, it can't run the tracks in opposite directions. When you turn the steering wheel, it operates a track warper (makes the track curve) and applies the mechanical Ford truck axle brakes to the left or right.
This isn't to say it has a *bad* turning radius, it just can't turn in place like you'd expect.

Wonderful; I had a great plan of making this my city ride, but now I know parallel parking would be a *(&$%#%^&*

21.5 horsepower per ton, wowsers, my gigantic 5900 lb mercury mountaineer has 2.5 times that power, but cant crush things like aa tank, I still want a tank, even if it would be slower than snails
