My tune isn't doing much because it has to revert to the "oh shit" tables and pull timing like a mofo in order to keep the car from pulling a Heisenberg.
Gonna fill it up with 91 octane next tank and do some more pulls with the computer hooked up and see if I have joy.

What kind of car/engine/tune? You were running a tune where you would have to worry about knocking and you were running 87? If so that seems reckless

I really wish Breaking Bad was a thing when I had an N-body; it needed that sticker.
Also, I'm going to nominate your post for BDCiT

The tune has a stock fallback table for when it detects knock, so the tune isn't kicking in until I run high-octane. I think the engine may just be getting old.

I need to get that sticker and put it on the engine cover of my dad's VW TDI.
Also I have no idea what BDCiT is but thanks!

why are you trying to tune a 200hp lesabre with 200k+ miles on it

Because I'm stuck with it until it breaks.
Also because racesofa.

Oh so you're trying to ruin it on purpose so you can get a better car? That makes more sense then.
Try running like 20 degrees timing advance on 87 octane then go for a few WOT pulls, that should get you into a new car real fast.

If it's tuned for premium and you are running 87 it will knock like a bitch and pull a lot of timing via KR. It's not really a "run what you want" thing. It's premium, and 87 if you are stuck and have to fill to get to a station with 93.

More along the lines of "I have this car I'm stuck with and I want to have as much fun with it as possible"
