Starting with this truck!

This is my friend's '86 Tercel 5spd wagon. It is carbureted and he dailies it and drives from Long Island to Michigan many times a year in it. It's a fucking tank.

Its the 4wd versions. They were taller than most trucks so they got the slang term "high boy"

name given to the later model 4x4s becasue they sat so much higher. Popular later in years as you can pretty much swap a set of 35" tires in and it will look like this.

^ no lift, nothing fancy, just a factory high clearance suspension.

And there are quite a few I can think of. And a bunch I don't see commenting or posting anymore. I grew up in Michigan, Grand Rapids. Lived there for more than 25 years. Lots of ties and family there, both east and west sides of state. Sometimes I miss it and then I come to my senses. :)

I do from time to time. Last one was about 2 years ago. It turns into a journey since when I tell people I am coming, they all want you to stop and see them. Which I love to do. It just seems like a never-ending visiting trip. West side to Northern LP to Metro area to Lansing area. This turns out to be not so much a vacation but a mini journey in itself. But I love it no matter how much I complain.
