Swamp Rat 33 was built near the end of his career for 1988. They thought that some records set a long time ago needed to be freshened up a bit and it turned out that a supercharged Flathead engine record could be done. They did it with a two-way record of nearly 218 mph. Don later built a 300 cubic inch Hemi to go 300mph in it but never got back to the salt again.
