I'm moving into downtown Grand Rapids next year and I'm looking at prices on rental sites and have a question. When it says $1800 per month plus utilities this is for the entire house, not a per person price, right?

It is for the whole house if it's that small. But I live in downtown GR right now and depending on what you want, you can actually be IN downtown for that or less. Do you need space for a family?

The campus off of Fulton street? Seward street has some good prices on rentals but they're older so no central air but window units will work fine for you. When I looked two years ago the house I saw was about 1300/ mo.

Yup. This house is actually on Fulton, mixed with that fact and that its through a more "legitimate" rental company is probably why the price is a bit high.

I would look north of campus, not west. A lot of student housing seems to be there so the landlords are used to student terms and whatnot. Are you looking to live alone or with roomates? I know someone who lives in that area and she might know some guys looking for roommates. She herself is NOT looking so don't bother asking. Trust me, I asked when we were dating if I had a shot......I'm still in my own apartment :(. But I can pee with the door open, so I have that going for me.
