More and more I see that the wife and I are in the minority on this. We clean the house top to bottom every Sunday. Between the two of us it only takes about an hour. That way if we have a day off, we can do whatever the heck we want.

the main problem is my wife is a "clean the whole house in one day without a break" cleaner, while I'm more of a clean for 20 mins a day everyday, kind of cleaner. We actually do stpil the work load pretty evenly, but it's tough to keep a whole house clean when we both work 40 hours a week.

I highly recommend a house cleaner. I balked at the idea at first - why pay someone to change your oil when you can do it yourself for cheap! But, it costs us less than $100 per month, and frees up tons of free time that we didn't have otherwise. Plus, when the house is really dirty you dont stress about it being dirty because you know the house cleaner is coming soon! Best decision I have made in a long time. $100 for essentially an extra 5-10 hours of free time per month is a no brainer looking back on it.

I hear ya. The wife is a kindergarten teacher and I run a website that's open 24/7. Work can take it's toll. We've found that if we devote one day each week to a thorough cleaning that we don't end up in a big cleaning cycle that takes hours. A lot of times we don't want to, but we reward ourselves by going out for a beer afterwards.

I hate that shit. I will NEVER let the dishes sit in my house. EVER! Seeing how some of bachelor friends live is motivation enough to never let that happen. Sweet gif. Made me lol.

Normally they don't (I cook, he washes dishes, that's the deal) but sometimes they get forgotten and I don't want to nag or do them myself.
