Why are the coolest cars in GT also the most difficult to photograph?

Am I going to miss Forza when I leave the Xbox world and commit to PlayStation for this generation?
It's really the only game I think I might miss.

Having played FM2-4 and GT3-6 I can tell you this: Forza looks better overall (GT6 may look better than FM4 but doubtfully better than FM5 - hard to tell as I haven't got HD TV :@) SOUNDS EXCELLENT and has better matchmaking. It's just a better game overall as rather than trying to go for a full sim their semi-sim approach means the cars are still a bit arcade-y but they feel more in tune with how the cars are in real life (the way GT claims to model but really most cars face initial understeer to the point where many front engined cars need full ballast rear to really handle well >.>) GT6 has an unparalleled variety of cars, tracks, and tries to be more accurate (licence tests etc) but I have to say having moved to PS3 from 360 when the xbox packed up I really miss how good Forza sounds and the class hoppers - if GT6 had this instead of just user made lobbies matchmakign would be much faster if you just wanted to find competitive lobbies. Anything else just ask!

I too played FM2-4, and GT OG-4 (with GT3 beginning to be boring and far less fun than the incredible GT2, and GT4 having been a major disappointment).
Forza 2 was excellent, 3 a pretty good improvement, and Forza 4 the absolute best racer I've ever played. The sheer lunacy of its 400+ cars (which in true Pokemon fashion, I had to get all of), the greatness of its real tracks and even some of its imagined tracks (there aren't many games that can make you completely forget that they have Nuerburgring because the other true-to-life tracks are so good), and the attention to detail (ALL interiors modeled on their RL counterparts; tarmacs covered in oil, grease, chalk, rubber; great engine notes, absolutely incredible livery system and sharing mechanism), and the immersion (cars had a noticeably different feel amongst each other, full selection of most every Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa, Aston, Jaguar, etc. that you'd ever want to drive, from the lightweight roadsters on up to LMPTs), the Autovista and Top Gear tie-in: all of this made FM4 a crowning achievement among video games.
And so there it sits in my memory, along with the other greats: Gran Turismo 2, Rallisport Challenge 2, Project Gotham Racing 2, the Dirt series. I'm kinda heartbroken about transitioning back to Playstation and not seeing what's next on the Xbox side. So honestly, I'm just looking for the bright spots. Project Cars will be one. Hopefully Driveclub another. I wish they hadn't stopped making Motorstorm, because those were fun, but I guess (surprisingly) financial disappointments.

Were we spoilt?? When I had FM4 all I could think about is "I wish this had more cars and was just a bit more difficult" then when I got GT6 all I did was miss it...

Dude, I'm beginning to think the golden age of the racer is past. The current crop is questionable (FM5 receiving mixed reviews, Driveclub, The Crew, and Project Cars being great unknowns), and the future is murky.
Nobody makes rally games anymore, unless you're European and want to play the mediocre WRC series. Horizon, Grid, NFS all have kinda cocooned and removing features (interiors gone, control configuration out the window, new features and immersion largely forgotten—does it bother anyone besides me that Need for Speed has been revisiting this "hot pursuit" idea for about 20 years now?). The sims are few and far between and highly proprietary now.
At least F1 has been consistently fun. If you're into that. Which I increasingly am. By this time next year I want a bunch of good games to choose from. High hopes for Project Cars.

Yea as we approach(ed) the brick wall (very little room for improvement as things currently stand ) there won't be much improvement anymore. For example immersion cannot improve with current limitations (creating a sense of speed with single monitors) (3D technology not widespread or affordable enough) (force feedback racing seat/proper sim setup an additional expense not always in budget), also things like what's the point of improving polygons per model when the new HD TVs (UHD?) are at the limit of resolution that humans' cones/rods can resolve and I think the new crop of games is already made for super high def. I would love to try the F1 games; I tried Moto GP (demo) and that was REALLY hard!!! But to actually own those games? I need variety of cars in a game!
