Picture unrealated. But yea. Thud followed instantly by the most gut wrenching hiss I've ever heard in my life. But no bite. Thank God it missed. Would've at least hurt like a bitch and a half.

So word of Oppovice. Don't run over snakes when on two wheels. Especially in slow moving sets of two wheels.

I once stupidly decided to ride my bike down a half-mile trail through a swamp at midnight, alone, with a really dim headlight. It stopped sounding fun as soon as I actually got down there. By the end I was pedaling non-stop in the highest gear, and that's when three snakes decided to cross the path together, right in front of me. I hit the lead one, and at least one of the others jumped up at me as I could hear them smack into the spokes of the rear wheel. So, yeah. I can agree that it's some scary stuff.

You have to be careful...you don't want the front wheel to catch on the snake and get stuck in the brake caliper/fork.

Man you should seen my on the Thousand Islands Parkway the other day. A squirrel ran in front of my car but I managed to get him in between the two front wheels, he went under the centre of the car then somehow avoided my rear wheels, and I saw him scampering into the bush in my right hand mirror!

Road kill avoided.
